One Month

I know I'm WAY behind on posting, but here's a little something until I get my act together. Just a little update - Cade is now one month old and growing like crazy. Like his mommy his favorite activity is EATING!

Here's a little video of Baby Cade exercising today. Just like his daddy he is more interested in what is on TV than looking at himself in the mirror or paying attention to me! ;)

I suppose Cade was working out today so he can win his own Super Bowl ring in a few years...thanks Uncle Jared for letting us borrow your ring!

Cade Robert Jackson is FINALLY here!

We arrived at the hospital at 7:30 am to be induced on Tuesday...and FINALLY met the little guy at 12:38 am Wednesday morning! Needless to say it was a long hard day for everyone, but now we are home and doing fantastic! I'm sure everyone is curious to hear how our first night at home went. All 3 of us got multiple hours of sleep so I consider that to be a HUGE success!

We truly want to thank all of our family & friends that came to see us at the hospital whether you were there for the entire 17+ hours or just a few minutes. We appreciate all of your thoughts, prayers, & time. We could not have made it with out you, and will need your continued support in the future!

Now let the fun begin...we are so excited for everyone to come over and play!!!

Waiting...

So much for wishful thinking. Little Cade was due yesterday and we're still waiting on him to arrive. We'll give him the weekend and if he's still not here we're going in after him! Thanks to everyone for all your thoughts, prayers, emails, and phone calls. We really appreciate it, and hope to post pictures of the little guy as soon as he is here.

This could be the last post before little Cade is finally here. I apologize for being a little lazy in updating the blog lately, but to be honest...I've been a little lazy in doing anything these days. Here are a couple of recent pictures.

Thanks to everyone that was able to make it to the shower a few weekends ago. We really appreciate everyone taking time out of their busy lives to spend a few hours with us. We have less than 5 weeks left now until we meet little baby Cade.

Weekend chores...

The furniture arrived so we put everyone to work this past weekend. With help from 4 grandparents, 2 great friends, 2 babies, and 5 dogs we were able to get the nursery painted and put the crib together...and have a lot of fun.

On Saturday afternoon the guys painted and rested, and then painted some more.

Later that night we put the crib together...it was definitely a group effort.

With help from Buster, on Sunday Austin & I finished putting together the other 2 pieces of furniture.

Ok, so I never got pictures of the sonogram up to add to the last post, so here they are...

This is the one that made the sono-tech say...see it's DEFINITELY a boy!

We also ordered crib bedding last week and it was delivered on Friday. Here's a picture of what we ordered, but don't worry we didn't order every single piece so it won't look quite this busy or crowded.

We're having a little BOY!

Sorry this is a couple days late, but that seems to be my theme this year...always running behind. We had our second sonogram on Monday and it took her about 3 seconds to say "Oh, see right there? It's definitely a boy!" He is growing right on schedule (a perfect curve on the graph, of course)! We are SUPER excited and can't wait to meet the little guy. I have stopped losing weight, and will probably be gaining VERY soon. Now that my tummy has started to pooch out, we'll start posting a few pictures of that...what a lovely sight!

Now it's time to start getting the house ready, picking out furniture, and all the other fun baby stuff. Of course I've already started some of that. ; )

Boy or Girl...

HOPEFULLY, this time next week I will be posting some exciting news! Next Monday afternoon I have an appointment for my second sonogram and we hope to find out if we're having a little boy or a little girl. Those of you who know me, know that it's driving me CRAZY not to know already. Unfortunately, that hasn't stopped some of us from spending money on the little one already. : )

Last week I definitely started FEELING pregnant. I've felt a few little "flutters", and have certainly started feeling like there's something growing in my tummy, it's already getting a little bit uncomfortable to sleep too...but I better get used to that since I have about 5 more months to go!

We'd like to give a shout out to one of our faithful followers...Aunt Julie, who is rockin' the blog on her fancy iPhone...we hope you can move back up here with us VERY soon!

Super Bowl XLIII here we come!

Well, we had our monthly visit to the doctor yesterday. Everything is growing just as it should...all my tests were good, and the baby's heartbeat is right on track. Again, the doctor said the baby was quite active, we even heard a little kick. She wasn't too concerned about my weight, so hopefully I'll be feeling better soon and start packing on the pounds! (But not too many of course.)

Now for the exciting news...we should FINALLY find out if we're having a little prince or princess on February 16th!!! I can't wait, being the control-freak I am, it's driving me nuts not to know what colors to start picking out, what names to consider, and who I need to start asking for hand-me-downs, hahaha!

On another note, as most of you know by now we finally pulled everything together and sent Daddy to Pittsburgh to see Jared play...little did we know what an exciting and important game he would get to see. He flew up there on his birthday, January 17th, and got to go to the AFC Championship game to see the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Baltimore Ravens and advance to the SUPER BOWL!!! Yea Jared, Go Steelers!!!

2nd Trimester...

Well, as of today I'm 14 weeks along and officially into the 2nd trimester. I'm still feeling sick, but I think things are starting to get better. I had a sudden burst of energy yesterday and got A LOT of house cleaning done...Lord knows that was WAY overdue. Since the last post we had Christmas & New Years. Most of which was somewhat of a blur between all of the traveling, weddings, funerals, graduations, and sickness.

For now I am staying busy with work and other little projects here and there. It has been nice to get a few things crossed off my never-ending "to do" list.

On Monday our good friends, Luke & Keri Jo, welcomed their 2nd little bundle of joy to the world...Trip Henson Thorkildsen! Again she had a super quick labor and delivery, and they were all home in about 24 hours. We can only pray for things to go as smoothly for Baby Jackson!
