Week 11!

So, we're now in week 11 and the gummy bear has graduated to a plum! Woohoo! Today I am feeling about 900% better than I have the last month or so. I hope that means more good days are ahead in my near future, but I don't want to get too excited. I actually felt like eating today, and had enough energy to go to the grocery store and buy more than just bread & milk. I bought a lot of fresh fruit, because apparently the "plum" needs more than yogurt, grilled cheese, saltines, and ice cream. I've been snacking on berries & "cuties" today. I have a routine appointment with the doc on Monday so I'll make sure and give everyone an update then, if not sooner.

For those of you expecting Christmas cards this year...I had good intentions!!! I bought all the goodies to custom make each and every one of you a Christmas card and I have my address list right here, but this year again has slipped away from me. Maybe I'll start sending cards in February or March...then you'd definitely remember getting my cards.

Last weekend we had a great time with the Goode side of the family in Moody. You can't ever go wrong with lots of good food and a Chinese gift exchange. This weekend we're going to spend some time with the other side of my family in Waco at Brandon's graduation. Then we're headed to Lufkin for Christmas.

The Baby Ticker

Most of you probably don't want to know all of the yucky details, but for those of you who do I have put a "baby ticker" at the top of this page so you can follow along with how the baby is developing week by week. Sometimes it's pretty interesting to see what's going on.

As far as me, I'm still the same...not wanting to eat ANYTHING! (I know, who would have thought I would ever be turning down food?!?!) Austin is a trooper, he's being VERY patient with me and trying to cater to my every need (or want). We'll see how long that lasts...he's still got about 7 months to go!

2 more weeks!!!

Ok, so I didn't exactly get the news I was hoping for at our first ultrasound on Friday. It seems the dates I guessed were off by 2 whole weeks...so I'm actually only about 9 1/2 weeks along instead of 11. Oh well, things could be worse. Austin joined me at my appointment and we got to see the little "gummy bear" and hear it's heartbeat too! It was pretty exciting. Here are the very first pictures of the baby...it sort of looks like a little smudge, but hopefully next time you'll be able to make out a little person!

Common threads...

So it looks like the baby and I have more in common than you would think at 11 weeks. We both HATE salad!!! Yesterday we had a little orientation for work, and then the bosses treated everyone to lunch at the Prairie House. For some strange reason I decided on the Southwest Grilled Chicken Salad, which tasted great at the time...probably because I soaked it in Ranch. There was no way I could eat the whole thing, but I ate just enough and felt great most of the day. We worked from about 9am until about 3:30pm, which for me these days is an extremely long day. I went home to rest a little bit. I'll spare you the details, but let's just say what happened next wasn't pretty. Austin's on his way home from work and we're getting ready to go for my first ultrasound, so maybe tomorrow's post will have details of a more definite due date!

Ok, I'm going to try very hard to keep this updated. I know a lot of you are interested in the baby details, so I figured this is the best way to get it all out there. For those of you who haven't heard...we're having a baby! Right now my due date is June 26, but I go for an ultrasound this Friday to get a more definite date. So stay tuned for more details...
